Dr. Amie Sun-Wright

Dr. Amie Sun-Wright is a Internal Medicine physician who specializes in comprehensive patient care.  went to the University of Texas at San Antonio, where she earned her Master of Science and Ph.D. in Biochemistry.  While serving as an assistant professor at UTHSCSA, She was involved in the development of using bacteriophage as “natural killer” to bacteria infection in human body.  The research experience has trained her to always approach an issue with systematic assessment and critical thinking.  She also realized that she enjoyed helping people more during research years.  Therefore, she later obtained her M.D. from Texas Tech University School of Medicine.   Dr. Sun-Wright completed her residency in internal medicine in Dallas Texas before moving to Houston area to be close to her extended family.

Dr. Sun-Wright has been practicing medicine in North Houston for the past 13 years.  Her Award includes “Top Doctors” in Houston for multiple years, and she was also named in the “who is who in primary care, USA” in 2018.   She served as representative to Texas Medical Association early on in her career, and recently as medical director for a national healthcare organization.  However, the first passion of Dr. Sun-Wright remains in the patient care.   Specializing in outpatient internal medicine, diagnostics, and primary care for adults, Dr. Sun-Wright applies science and clinical expertise to diagnose, treat, and provide compassionate care of adults across the spectrum from preventative care to complex illness.

OUR SERVICES

ECHOCARDIOGRAM (ECHO)

An echocardiogram (echo) is a graphic outline of the heart's movement. During an echo test, ultrasound (high-frequency sound waves) from a hand-held wand placed on your chest provides pictures of the heart's valves and chambers and helps the sonographer evaluate the pumping action of the heart.

STRESS ECHOCARDIOGRAPHY

A stress echocardiography, also called an echocardiography stress test or stress echo, is a procedure that determines how well your heart and blood vessels are working. During a stress echocardiography, you'll exercise on a treadmill or stationary bike while your doctor monitors your blood pressure and heart rhythm.

CAROTID DOPPLER

A carotid Doppler is an imaging test that uses ultrasound to examine the carotid arteries located in the neck. This test can show narrowing or possible blockages due to plaque buildup in the arteries due to coronary artery disease.

ELECTROCARDIOGRAM (EKG)

An electrocardiogram (ECG or EKG) records the electrical signal from your heart to check for different heart conditions. Electrodes are placed on your chest to record your heart's electrical signals, which cause your heart to beat.

GENERAL ULTRASOUND

Ultrasound imaging uses sound waves to produce pictures of the inside of the body. It is used to help diagnose the causes of pain, swelling and infection in the body's internal organs and to examine a baby in pregnant women and the brain and hips in infants. It's also used to help guide biopsies, diagnose heart conditions, and assess damage after a heart attack. Ultrasound is safe, noninvasive, and does not use ionizing radiation.

TREADMILL STRESS TEST

A stress test, sometimes called a treadmill test or exercise test, helps a doctor find out how well your heart handles work. As your body works harder during the test, it requires more oxygen, so the heart must pump more blood. The test can show if the blood supply is reduced in the arteries that supply the heart.
